Santo Domingo. - Today, Monday, although we will observe little precipitation activity at the beginning of the day, the meteorological conditions will be influenced by the cool northeast wind and the incidence of a trough to the north of the country, according to the forecast of the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET).
Consequently, we foresee scattered, weak to moderate rainfall at times, mainly in the afternoon and early evening over different locations in the provinces; Gran Santo Domingo, La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, San Cristóbal, Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Peravia, Azua, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, and Santiago, among others.
The temperature will remain quite pleasant due to the winter and the cool northeast wind, mainly in mountainous areas and during morning and evening hours. In addition, we foresee the occurrence of fogs or mists during the early morning hours in various mountainous areas and some valleys in the interior of the country.

Tomorrow, Tuesday; we foresee the occurrence of weak and isolated rains over different towns in La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Monte Plata and Duarte, due to the effects of a trough located in the lower levels of the troposphere, located northeast of the country. However, during the afternoon and night, these rains will gradually extend to other locations in La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, Gran Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, as well as some towns in the southwest and north of the country. National District: few clouds during the morning, increasing in the afternoon and night with weak to moderate rains at times. Santo Domingo Norte: scarce cloudiness in the morning. While in the afternoon, we foresee an increase in cloudiness generating weak to moderate rains. Santo Domingo Este: Cloudy increases in the afternoon with weak to moderate rainfall at times. Santo Domingo Oeste: isolated cloudiness in the morning, becoming partly cloudy to cloudy in the afternoon, with weak to moderate showers at times. Minimum temperatures between 18 °C and 20 °C and the maximum between 27 °C and 29 °C. Summary: A trough and the influence of the northeast wind will cause cloud cover increases, which will generate rainfall of different intensities and frequencies during the course of this afternoon and early evening over different provinces of the country, including Greater Santo Domingo, among others… The temperature will remain quite cool and pleasant, especially at night and in the early morning…For next Wednesday, the forecast analyses indicate the incidence of an anticyclonic system in our area of responsibility. This system will be predominating in the meteorological conditions of the country, keeping the rains that generate significant accumulations over the Dominican territory reduced. However, we foresee in the afternoon, due to a trough with little moisture content and the influence of the east/northeast wind, some isolated showers over different towns of Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte and Monseñor Nouel, until the early hours of the night.
National District: scattered clouds. Allied showers of short duration, mainly in the late afternoon. Greater Santo Domingo: little cloudiness in the morning. While in the afternoon, occasional increases in cloudiness. Some isolated showers.
