Santo Domingo. - President Luis Abinader responded this Monday to former president Danilo Medina, who stated that he would not attend a debate with him to discuss government works of both administrations "so as not to humiliate him." When approached by the press, Medina expressed that in his opinion, a sitting president "should not be humiliated" and that these types of discussions are held during election campaigns, and neither of them is a candidate. "It's that I would have to humiliate him and I understand that a sitting president is not humiliated, that can only be done in an electoral campaign debate and he is not a candidate nor am I, so there is no possible comparison between what President Abinader has done and what the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) has done," he said.
