Through the four episodes, the Netflix documentary will offer an "intimate and revealing" story about Aguilera Valadez, the man behind the Mexican musical idol and author of hundreds of songs, who turned his pain into anthems and broke stigmas and prejudices throughout his life.

"Juan Gabriel: Debo, Puedo y Quiero, traces the career of one of Mexico's most beloved artists from its beginnings to his death, offering an unprecedented and deeply human look at his legacy, which is already part of Mexican popular culture, and whose music continues to move millions around the world," the bulletin stated.

Died of a heart attack in August 2016, at the age of 66, in Santa Monica (USA), Juan Gabriel was one of the most important Mexican singers, composed for more than 200 artists and sold more than 30 million records. Songs like 'I don't have money', 'This red rose', 'What divine love', 'In this spring' or 'Always on my mind', marked from the beginning of 1970 an era of uninterrupted successes. 'The Divo de Juarez' received more than a thousand gold, platinum, and multi-platinum records during his career, was chosen as the Latin Recording Academy's Person of the Year in 2009, and also won twelve Billboard Awards for Artist of the Year, Hot Latin Track, Album of the Year, and Duet of the Year, among other awards. The Orgullosamente Latino 'Trayectoria Latina' Award (2004), the Ondas and the MTV Music Award (both in 1999), are other examples of his long list of recognitions. In 2006, the King of Spain, then Juan Carlos I, awarded him the Golden Laurel and Universal Excellence. And he even has a day dedicated to him in Los Angeles (USA), October 5th.
