The driver of the red vehicle, identified as Aldry Aneldy de Jesús Cerda Carrera, was arrested at the scene; meanwhile, the driver of the red SUV managed to escape upon noticing the presence of the Army, the ERD indicated in a statement. According to intelligence information, behind this operation were alleged undocumented human traffickers, who would be identified under the aliases 'Coco', 'Fraylin' and 'Colón', the Army indicated. These alleged traffickers would be part of a network that operates "from the Pueblo Nuevo sector of Mao and that has been a repeat offender in this type of illicit activities." "The 28 undocumented foreigners detained, the driver arrested, and the vehicles are at the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the ERD, for the corresponding legal processes," stated the ERD.
