Mexican cartels offer up to $50,000 to kill ICE agents

The United States assured this Tuesday that Mexican drug cartels, allegedly in collaboration with the Antifa movement (extreme left), have put a price on the heads of agents fighting illegal immigration in cities like Chicago.

"The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has obtained credible intelligence information that Mexican criminals, in coordination with domestic extremist groups, have placed bounties on ICE and CBP personnel," the statement explained.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) and the Border Patrol (CBP) have been carrying out major raids in that northeastern US city for months, amid growing protests.

President Donald Trump announced last week the deployment of National Guard soldiers to support those operations, despite strong protests from the governor of Illinois and the mayor of Chicago. "The cartels have publicized a reward program to incentivize violence against federal agents," which includes, according to DHS, several levels of rewards.
