Netflix is preparing a documentary series about basketball star Kevin Durant

Los Angeles (USA).- Netflix announced this Thursday that it is preparing a documentary series that will narrate the career of the American basketball star Kevin Durant.

"The filming of this extensive series began before the 2023-2024 season and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where Durant became the most decorated male basketball player in Olympic history," the platform reported in a statement.

Directed by Michael D. Ratner and Robert Alexander, the project "narrates the rise of Kevin Durant as one of the greatest and most polarizing basketball players, and explores his impact on the game and the legacy he is building," added Netflix. The production of this documentary series, which does not yet have a release date, will continue during the current season and over the following years, as it approaches the end of its run. The Houston Rockets star has won two NBA championships and throughout his 18-year career has been selected 15 times to play in the All Star game, the annual championship that brings together the great basketball stars. In addition, he has been named NBA MVP, two Finals MVPs, has accumulated four Olympic gold medals and holds the title of all-time leading Olympic scorer for the U.S., as well as being the highest-paid player in the NBA. "Kevin is, without a doubt, one of the best basketball players of all time, but he is also a fascinating person with a unique story that will inspire and move all viewers," said Michael D. Ratner, founder and CEO of OBB Pictures, the film and television division of OBB Media which, along with Ballroom, will partner with Netflix for this project.
