Effects of a trough will impact some locations in the country this Wednesday

Santo Domingo. - The Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute (INDOMET), reported that this Wednesday, there will be an increase in humidity and instability over our area, due to the effects of a trough present at various levels of the troposphere.

For this reason, cloud increases will be generated near noon, during the afternoon and night, accompanied by locally heavy showers, thunderstorms and wind gusts that could be strong at times, mainly towards provinces such as: La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, San Juan, Hermanas Mirabal, Monseñor Nouel, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Duarte, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, El Gran Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal.

For tomorrow, Thursday, a decrease in humidity is expected, due to the withdrawal of the trough in the afternoon. However, the cool northeast wind and local daytime heating effects will cause scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms from morning hours over provinces of the Atlantic coast, the Cibao Valley, the Central Mountain Range and the eastern plain. Especially towards: Puerto Plata, Samaná, La Altagracia, La Vega, Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, María Trinidad Sánchez, El Seibo, La Altagracia, Espaillat and Santiago. Pleasant temperatures.

National District: scattered clouds in the morning with local showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

This coming Friday, an atmosphere of low humidity associated with an anticyclonic circulation will begin to dominate the weather conditions over our territory, which will favor a mostly sunny environment and little rain in the country. Only a few isolated showers are expected in locations in the regions: north, northeast, southeast and the Central Mountain Range, as a result of the drag of the cool northeast wind and the effects of the local orography.
