Harden, 36, needed 20 points to eclipse the 28,289 that Anthony accumulated in 19 seasons. After reaching halftime with 19 units, the veteran guard achieved the basket that placed him above “Melo” four minutes from the end of the third quarter. He finished the match with 34 points, sealing his entry into the prestigious historical club. Currently, only two active players accompany Harden among the top ten scorers:
  • LeBron James, historical leader with 42,268 points.
  • Kevin Durant, eighth place with more than 31,000 units.
Harden, who is playing his 17th season in the league and was the scoring champion between 2018 and 2020, also joins figures like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki, Wilt Chamberlain and Shaquille O’Neal on the list. However, the individual milestone contrasts with the Clippers' bad moment, who have lost 10 of their last 12 games and are in the penultimate position of the Western Conference despite Harden's averages of 26.5 points and 8.4 assists this season. A clutch three-pointer by Naz Reid, with 13 seconds left and the game tied at 104, sealed the victory for Minnesota. Anthony Edwards had a discreet night with 15 points, but the Timberwolves secured the win against a Clippers in free fall.

Jalen Johnson: Second Consecutive Night with a Triple-Double

One of the most brilliant performances of the day was given by Jalen Johnson, who led the Atlanta Hawks to a 131-116 victory over the Washington Wizards. Johnson recorded his second consecutive triple-double with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists.
At 23 years old, the power forward has become the team's offensive engine in the absence of Trae Young, accumulating four triple-doubles this season, surpassed only by Nikola Jokic's 11 and Josh Giddey's 5.

Anthony Davis Redeems Himself in Dallas Victory

In the closing of the day, the Dallas Mavericks surprised by defeating the Houston Rockets 122-109. Anthony Davis, who was coming off a quiet night with only two points, resurfaced with 29 units against a Rockets team that didn't have Alperen Sengün.
Rookie Cooper Flagg also stood out with 19 points for Dallas, which is fighting to get into playoff positions. By Houston, Kevin Durant led the offense with 27 points in a game where the Texans arrived as second in the West.
