Machado says that she works with the US government but is not involved in its operations

The Venezuelan opposition led by María Corina Machado is "working hard" with the US government to explain in detail its plan for a transition, but denied being involved in the operations that Donald Trump's government is developing in the Caribbean. "We are not at all involved in decisions or operations related to the national security of other countries. That is to say, each country has its own right to legitimate defense and when they feel that their national security is at stake, they act accordingly," said the Venezuelan opposition figure and Nobel Peace Prize laureate at a press conference in Oslo.
