President Abinader has lunch with officers and soldiers of the Navy and Air Force

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader, accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, shared this Saturday his traditional lunch with officers and soldiers of the Navy and Air Force of the Dominican Republic, to whom he thanked for the service they provide to the nation and guaranteed them that they will continue to count on his support for the fulfillment of their mission.

The first lunch was at the Navy headquarters, where the president was given a recognition prepared by the Dominican Military Industry for his support of the institution and as a sign of loyalty to his investitures.

When addressing the military, the Head of State highlighted the work carried out by the sailors in defense of the coasts and collaborating in the fight against drug trafficking. “Thank you for your work, your dedication, your defense of the homeland, because when we show the amount of seizures due to drug trafficking, they congratulate us, and that is largely due to the specialized work of the Navy, thus defending the quality of life of our people and defending our homeland from all those criminal actions”.

In the welcome words, the general commander of the Navy, Admiral Juan Bienvenido Crisóstomo Martínez, thanked President Abinader for presiding once again the lunch dedicated to the naval crew, “valuable members of the Dominican Republic navy, men and women of the sea, heirs of the glory of Cambiazo and Acosta.”

“Looking back, the year that is soon ending fills us with a deep sense of pride and gratitude for the great work done that has been recognized nationally and internationally, for the unwavering commitment and selflessness with which each of you, from your positions of service and duty, have contributed to the fulfillment of our institutional mission,” expressed the military leader. Then, the president went to the San Isidro Air Base to share with those responsible for safeguarding the airspace of the Dominican Republic.

Continued improvement in soldiers' quality of life

In his message to the Air Force soldiers, President Abinader recalled that the lunches became a tradition to remind them of the pride his government feels for the work done in defense of the homeland, evidenced in a peace and harmony in all aspects, which are admired by other countries. “Thank you, thank you for your work; for all the protection to the country from the border, and your action against criminal acts.” He also reaffirmed his commitment to continue improving their living conditions and institutional equipment.

In that sense, the commander of the Air Force, Floreal Suárez, reiterated his gratitude to the president, “who has shown in his term his solidarity with the institution regarding its professional development and equipment”.
