Court imposes house arrest and pre-trial detention in the Cobra Senasa case

Santo Domingo.— The court hearing the so-called Cobra Senasa case issued important coercive measures this Sunday against several of the defendants in the investigation for alleged embezzlement and corruption within the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), a scheme that has been described by the Public Ministry as one of the largest administrative frauds investigated in the country. House arrest was ordered for Eduardo Estrella Read and Cinty Acosta, who will face the measure while the investigation continues. In addition, the three defendants requested by the Public Ministry must serve 18 months of preventive detention, including Santiago Hazim, who will serve his sentence in the CCR Najayo Hombres. Tribunal dicta medidas de coerción en el #CasoSenasa

Santo Domingo.— El tribunal que conoce el Caso Senasa dictó este domingo medidas de coerción contra diez de los imputados vinculados a la investigación por presunto desfalco y corrupción en el Seguro Nacional de Salud (SeNaSa), en el marco de la Operación Cobra.

Medidas adoptadas:

  • Santiago Marcelo Hazim – Prisión preventiva de 18 meses, CCR Najayo Hombres.
  • Rafael Luis Martínez Hazim – Prisión preventiva de 18 meses, CCR Najayo Hombres.
  • Gustavo Enrique Messina Cruz – Prisión preventiva de 18 meses, CCR Najayo Hombres.
  • Germán Rafael Robles Quiñones – Prisión preventiva de 18 meses, CCR Najayo Hombres.
  • Francisco Iván Minaya Pérez – Prisión preventiva de 18 meses, CCR Najayo Hombres.
  • Eduardo Read Estrella – Arresto domiciliario y impedimento de salida del país.
  • Cinty Acosta Sención – Arresto domiciliario, garantía económica de 100,000 pesos e impedimento de salida.
  • Ramón Alan Speakler Mateo – Prisión preventiva de 18 meses, CCR Najayo Hombres.
  • Ada Ledesma Ubiera – Prisión preventiva de 18 meses, CCR Najayo Hombres.
  • Heidi Mariela Pineda Perdomo – Arresto domiciliario, garantía económica de 100,000 pesos e impedimento de salida.

El tribunal adoptó estas medidas con el objetivo de garantizar la continuidad de la investigación, asegurar la presencia de los imputados durante el proceso judicial y proteger la integridad del expediente.

Las autoridades recuerdan que las medidas cautelares forman parte del debido proceso, mientras la investigación continúa abierta para esclarecer los hechos relacionados con el Caso Senasa.
