Dominican soprano Janette Márquez will offer a concert in Rome

The lyrical presentation will take place in the Vatican as part of the cultural agenda promoted by the Dominican Embassy to the Holy See. Rome, Italy. The non-sighted Dominican soprano Janette Márquez will offer a lyrical concert in honor of the Virgen de la Altagracia on January 15, 2026, in the city of Rome, as part of the commemorative activities dedicated to the patron saint of the Dominican people and a cultural agenda aimed at promoting faith, identity, and the inclusion of national talent on international stages. The concert will take place in the church of Santa Ana, in the Vatican, the parish seat of the Vatican City State, a space of great historical and spiritual relevance. The presentation will also serve to bid farewell to the painting of the Virgin of Altagracia Peregrina, which was part of the exhibition Routes of Hope: Dominican Contemporary Art, held in Rome, and which returns to the Dominican Republic.

The activity is organized by the Embassy of the Dominican Republic to the Holy See, headed by Ambassador Víctor Suárez Díaz, as part of its efforts to strengthen the cultural, artistic, and spiritual projection of the Dominican Republic abroad. The recital is scheduled for 5:00 PM and will feature a sacred and classical repertoire. On stage, Janette Márquez will be accompanied by the young Dominican pianist Samuel García and the Italian pianist Catia Capua.

“I am very excited to perform this concert in honor of our patron saint of the Dominican people. This recital is an expression of faith and gratitude, and a way to share our cultural identity through music,” expressed the soprano.
