Fire in Dominican Fiber Industrial cafeteria leaves one employee affected

Santo Domingo. – A fire recorded this Friday morning in the cafeteria of Industrial de Fibra Dominicana S.R.L., located on the Duarte highway, near the entrance to Los Alcarrizos, was caused by a failure in the gas cylinder hose that connects to the stove in the kitchen area. The information was confirmed by Colonel Wilkin Arias, Director of Investigation of the Los Alcarrizos Fire Department, who explained that the malfunction in said hose was the origin of the incident. During the event, the cafeteria manager, identified as Franklin, was affected. He was working at the time of the fire and tried to put out the flames, suffering injuries to one of his arms. He is currently receiving medical attention.

For her part, Sashari Jiménez, head of Human Resources for the company, reported that the staff was dispatched preventively and that work will resume next Monday. Fire Department units attended the scene to provide assistance, managing to control the fire and prevent its spread, in addition to establishing a security perimeter in the surrounding area while mitigation efforts were carried out. Authorities continue investigations to accurately determine the circumstances of the incident and reinforce security measures in the area.
