Arajet graduates new Dominican pilots from cadet program in partnership with Boeing

Arajet and Boeing's cadet program is the first of this magnitude in Latin America.

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican airline Arajet and the international aeronautical company Boeing, graduated two new Dominican pilots, who successfully completed the cadet training program that both companies develop in partnership and that had the approval and supervision of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC). For an entire year, Dominicans Carlos Martínez and José Mauriz trained to receive the certificate that accredits them as pilots of the Boeing 737 Max aircraft, after completing more than 1,000 total flight hours. This program included flight line training, aviation data training (by the company Jeppesen), competition-based simulators, an adaptation course to the Boeing 737 Max jet, among others. Due to the magnitude of the program's content and its cost, which exceeds US$100,000.00, this initiative is considered the largest of its kind in all of Latin America. Their graduation not only marks an individual achievement, but also symbolizes the collective progress of an entire nation that looks to the sky with determination and hope. Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet, stated, “This is a moment of national pride. These young people are not only graduating as pilots, but they are also rising as a symbol of the potential of Dominican youth. From Arajet, we believe that Dominican talent can conquer the skies of the world, and we are committed to opening all the necessary doors for this to be the case.”

“Esta es la primera promoción que graduamos en este programa, al cual hemos dado continuidad con otra promoción que está en preparación y con la evaluación de los candidatos que conformarán la tercera. Nos llena de satisfacción poder apoyar el desarrollo de las capacidades aeronáuticas en República Dominicana, a través de esta alianza con Boeing, la cual forma parte de nuestra visión de futuro”,

agregó Garret Malone, jefe de operaciones de la aerolínea.
This cadet program, developed with the technical and academic support of Boeing, has been designed to offer world-class training, with high safety standards, advanced flight simulation, and intensive practices. Its objective is for more Dominicans to be able to develop their careers as commercial pilots without having to emigrate or face insurmountable economic barriers. With this graduation, Arajet reaffirms its mission of not only connecting destinations, but also connecting dreams. In the words of one of the new pilots, "Flying with Arajet is not only fulfilling a personal dream, it is being part of the takeoff of a new era for Dominican aviation."
