Government inaugurates modern educational center in La Guáyiga that will benefit more than 400 students

La Guáyiga, Pedro Brand.- The Dominican government, through the Ministry of Education, inaugurated this Friday the María Teresa Mirabal Educational Center, which will positively impact the academic life of more than 450 students of basic level in the community of La Guáyiga. Vice President Raquel Peña led the handover ceremony, where she highlighted the Government's commitment to improving school infrastructure and educational quality. The work had an investment of more than RD$ 52 million, executed by the School Infrastructure Directorate (DIE). The new school building has nine standard classrooms, one for the Initial level, a library, a dining room, a kitchen, bathrooms, and a mixed-use court with bleachers, designed to offer a dignified and functional environment for learning. During the ceremony, Deputy Minister Rolando Reyes highlighted the importance of investing in education from the earliest years. “The individual who begins to receive early education develops their abilities better”, he stated. The center's director, Bélgica Bautista Brito, stated that this delivery represents a significant step forward for the educational community of La Guáyiga and called on all stakeholders to assume the commitment to maintain the quality of the educational process. Local officials and lawmakers attended the event, including Governor Lucrecia Santana Leyba, Senator Antonio Taveras, Mayor Mirtha Pérez, and several deputies from the province.
