Santiago. – The judge of the Permanent Attention Office of Santiago, Yaritza Cabral, imposed this Tuesday an economic guarantee of 500,000 pesos, periodic presentation and a travel ban on three employees of the Leonardo Da Vinci School, accused of the death by drowning of the student Stephora Anne-Mircie Joseph, 11 years old, during a school excursion.
In a differentiated manner, the magistrate granted simple release to Gisela González Estrella, general coordinator of the educational center, which generated dissatisfaction in the Public Ministry.

After learning of the decision, the head of the National Directorate for Children and Adolescents of the Public Ministry, Olga Diná Llaverías, expressed her disagreement by stating that the measure "does not meet the expectations of the prosecution." She also informed that the Public Ministry will appeal the ruling as soon as it receives official notification from the court. The case has shaken the Santiago community and has left the minor's family distraught, while the investigation progresses to determine responsibilities for the alleged negligence committed during the excursion, in which the girl lost her life and whose name has become a symbol of the demand for justice.
