PN arrests 10 people for beverage theft after event in Bávaro, La Altagracia province

Bávaro.- The National Police, through the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), in coordination with the Division of Investigation of Crimes and Offenses Against Property in Bávaro-Friusa, arrested ten people for stealing a large quantity of high-value alcoholic beverages, after an event held in an entertainment center located in that demarcation of La Altagracia province.

The detainees are César Ignacio Escanio de los Santos, Lik Guzmán Reynoso, Ramón Guillermo Guillermo Beltre, Yefri Pérez, Manuel Mena Arias, Denny Lara, Marquez Brito, Nathanael Romero Solano, Oscar Pérez and Joseph Rodríguez Gabot, who, taking advantage of their status as contracted employees, violated a van used as a warehouse and stole more than 100 bottles of alcoholic beverages of well-known brands.

The fact was reported by the manager of the organizing company, who estimated the value of the theft at approximately RD$1,908,000 pesos.

The individuals involved were intercepted as they were about to board a Joylong minibus, license plate No. I101227, inside which a large part of the stolen beverages were found. Although they claimed to have found the bottles abandoned in a wooded area, eyewitnesses stated they had seen them loading the items into the vehicle.

The detainees, along with the seized evidence, will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
