From an early age, Musicólogo showed a strong inclination towards music. In his adolescence, while living in Buenos Aires de Herrera, he built an improvised studio in his house, where he began to experiment with sounds and write his first songs. During that time he worked delivering orders in a grocery store, always accompanied by his headphones, which earned him the nickname "el musicólogo", a name he would later adopt as his artistic identity.

Initially, Ygnacio Alberto Santiago dreamed of being a Major League player and played baseball in local leagues, but after the death of his grandparents, with whom he lived, he had to abandon that path to move in with his father, Ignacio Santiago, who passed away in 2017.

Musical career

His first formal project was with the group Herrera Family, and later formed the duo J-Musicólogo with the urban exponent “El J”, although this did not continue. His rise in the music scene came when he began working with the artistic entrepreneur Vladimir Muñoz of Punto Music Group.
