“The goal is already there”, were the first words of the Puerto Rican when addressing his players, emphasizing that the only objective is to repeat the title.
“We are here to win. We are not here to qualify, nor to reach the final, the goal is to repeat”, underlined Cintrón, who expressed full confidence in his group and the commitment of everyone to achieve glory again.

The leader highlighted the early integration of the main core of the champion team, valuing the quality and leadership of figures such as Erik González, Junior Lake, Sócrates Brito, Franchy Cordero and Johnny Cueto, among others.

“There's plenty of quality here. This group knows what it takes to win and is focused on doing it again,” he added.

Cintrón also thanked the work of the "staff of coaches" who led the training during his absence, while completing commitments with the "Houston Astros" in Major League Baseball.

"I thank the organization for all the reports they gave me day by day, in addition to the fact that the preparation of the boys was very good," he expressed.

First game in charge

In their debut on the field, the Leones del Escogido defeated the National Police team 7-0 in a preseason game. Darlin Moquete was the offensive star, going 2-2 with a home run, a double, two runs scored, and one RBI, while Guillermo Rosario went 2-1 with one RBI. From the mound, Alex Martínez opened the game with two solid innings and was followed by Yorlin Calderón, Indigo Díaz, Francis Peña, Wirfin Obispo, Cristofer Gómez, Jasseel de la Cruz and Randy Berigüete, who completed the shutout. The Escogido will continue its preparation this Saturday at 11:00 in the morning, when it faces the Toros del Este at the New York Yankees academy. With his firm and direct style, Alex Cintrón has made it clear that the Lions are not content with the recent past: "We are here to win, and the goal is to repeat."
