Los Angeles .- The American singer Billy Joel announced the definitive cancellation of his tour of the United States and the United Kingdom after receiving a diagnosis of hydrocephalus.
"Billy Joel has announced that he will cancel all scheduled concerts following a recent diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH). This condition has been aggravated by recent concert performances, leading to hearing, vision, and balance problems," his team reported via social media.
The musician is receiving "specific physiotherapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period," the writing added.
"I sincerely regret disappointing our audience and thank you for your understanding," Joel said in the statement.

The 76-year-old singer announced on March 11 that he was postponing his concert tour for four months to recover from a surgery, the details of which he did not offer.
The concert tour included several dates at different locations in the U.S. in the coming months, such as Las Vegas, San Antonio, St. Louis, or Cleveland, as well as a stop in the British cities of Edinburgh and Liverpool.
William Martin 'Billy' Joel, a native of The Bronx, said goodbye last year to ten years of concerts at Madison Square Garden, the iconic New York venue where he has had a very long residency for a decade, at a rate of one recital per month in which he used to sell out.
