Aguascalientes. – The Dominican badminton team won three bronze medals in the “Mexico Future Series Aguascalientes 2025”, achieving an outstanding performance in the tournament that concluded over the weekend and brought together athletes from 12 countries in America, Europe and Oceania.
The Dominican team stood out by qualifying for three semifinals, thus reaching three third places in the women's doubles and men's doubles modalities.
The female pairs composed of Nairobys Jiménez and Claritza Pie, as well as Daniela Acosta and Alissa Acosta, showed great technical solidity and teamwork to make their way among the best in the competition.
In the men's division, the duo formed by Anderson Taveras and Jonathan Linares also managed to advance to the semifinals, solidifying a historic performance for the country at this level of competition.
These results allow the national team to add valuable points to the international ranking, getting closer to future classifications for major events such as the Pan American Games and tournaments of the Olympic cycle. The team was under the technical direction of national coaches Wilton Tavares and Maykel Moreno.
Following this outstanding participation, the Dominican selection is preparing for its next commitment in the Guatemala Future Series, which will take place from September 2 to 7 in the city of Guatemala.
The prestigious event, endorsed by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), featured the participation of delegations from Canada, United States, Colombia, Australia, Venezuela, Denmark, Barbados, Spain, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico and Dominican Republic.
