Ecuador. – President Daniel Noboa was unharmed this Tuesday after a shooting attack on the vehicle in which he was traveling through southern Ecuador, amid protests from indigenous communities in rejection of his government, reported the Minister of Environment and Energy, Inés Manzano.
According to the official, around 500 people surrounded the presidential convoy, throwing stones and causing damage to the vehicles. "Obviously there are also bullet marks on the president's car," Manzano told the press, assuring that the president was not injured.
The Presidency released videos taken from inside one of the cars, in which it is observed how several objects impact the vehicle's windows while someone inside shouts: "duck!"

This incident occurs in the context of indigenous protests that have increased in recent days, with demands for greater dialogue and rejection of certain policies of the Noboa government. The authorities are investigating the events and reinforced security on the routes used by the president.So far, no arrests or serious injuries have been reported, and the president continued with his official agenda after the incident, while the authorities call for calm and dialogue to resolve the social conflicts affecting the region.
