Julieta Venegas announces her literary debut

Mexico.- Mexican singer Julieta Venegas announced that she will debut in literature with 'Norteña. Memorias del Comienzo', an autobiographical book that will arrive in May at bookstores in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Spain. The artist shared the news on social media, where she explained that it is a personal text in which she explores her early years, her family, and the origin of her relationship with music. "I wanted to find the origin of my restlessness for making music, for writing songs. A text that I have been wanting and at the same time not wanting to write, but that was advancing at its own pace," she detailed in a post on her social media.

The Book of Julieta Venegas

According to Venegas, the book functions as a kind of "log" that goes from her childhood memories in Tijuana and Mexico City to the release of her first album 'Aquí' (1997). The project is linked to her next album, also titled 'Norteña,' as both are part of the same creative exercise of memory, the singer specified. "The album is a recreation of my musical memory. The book is a kind of logbook (...) Although the album and the book are not the same, together they are part of a memory project, a way to reconnect with what shaped me," he said. The work will be published by independent publishers in different countries, including Almadía in Mexico, and will also be available in digital format and audiobook.
