La Vega. – The Municipal Council of La Vega, under the leadership of Mayor Amparo Custodio, in close coordination with the environmental organization ECO5RD, launched a comprehensive cleaning operation called “The Christmas Cleaning Route”.
This special plan contemplates the deployment of twelve (12) solid waste collection trucks that will systematically tour the different neighborhoods, sectors, and communities of the municipality. The objective is to guarantee a clean, orderly, and suitable environment for the vegan families to enjoy the end-of-year festivities. "This operation is more than just a garbage collection; it's a space to share and reinforce the actions that, as a community, we continue to implement to keep our city in the best conditions. We want La Vega to shine not only with its lights and decorations, but also with its cleanliness and organization, ready to experience the true magic of Christmas," said Mayor Custodio. During the launch of the initiative, the first municipal authority thanked the decisive support of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, and the Director of ECO5RD, Carlos De Jesús Pellerano Cepeda. "Their commitment to the development and well-being of our municipalities is fundamental to carry out projects that directly impact the quality of life of our citizens," he added. For its part, ECO5RD, an organization that assumes an active role in promoting environmental awareness at the national level, reiterated its commitment to continue working to educate and inspire individuals, companies, and local governments. "Supporting these practical initiatives is key to fostering the adoption of responsible practices that protect and preserve our natural resources, starting with the proper management of waste," the organization stated. The City Council of La Vega calls for citizen collaboration, requesting residents to take out their waste at the established times and maintain discipline so that "The Christmas Cleaning Route" is a collective success.
