Monte Plata. — The Provincial Health Directorate (DPS) of Monte Plata, under the direction of Dr. Cándido Norberto Herrera, was awarded first place nationwide in management and administration during the annual evaluation carried out by the Ministry of Public Health. This important recognition corresponds to the year 2025 and highlights the efficiency, commitment, and excellence in the management of public health services provided in the province.
The award was presented by the Ministry of Public Health, headed by Dr. Victor Elias Atallah Lajam, who heads the country's health portfolio and has promoted various initiatives to strengthen the quality and performance of Dominican health institutions.

Doctor Herrera expressed his satisfaction with the achievement and thanked the team of health professionals for their dedication and commitment to the community. Health sector authorities agreed that this award reflects the constant efforts and institutional focus on the continuous improvement of services, reinforcing the role of Monte Plata as a management model in the Dominican public health system.
