Twenty years in prison for young man who killed his twin in Jarabacoa

Santo Domingo.- Accepting the request of the Public Ministry, the Second Collegiate Tribunal of Jarabacoa sentenced Fernet Luise or Loise (the Twin), 21 years old, to 20 years in prison for causing the death of his twin brother after wounding him in the midst of a discussion with a bladed weapon, in an event that occurred in 2024 in the Paso Bajito sector.


Luise was convicted of "voluntary manslaughter with the use of a bladed weapon," to the detriment of his brother Felne Loise (the Twin), both of Haitian nationality.

The event occurred on the night of April 8th of last year when both were walking towards their home located in the town of El Arroyo, La Pista, of the aforementioned sector of Jarabacoa, La Vega province. According to the Public Ministry's file, the defendant attacked his brother with a knife of approximately 12 inches with which he injured him in the left infraclavicular region, which caused him hypovolemic shock that caused his death instantly, as stated in the death certificate no. 075813, dated April 8, 2024, issued by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif).

A witness recounted that he asked the young people to stop arguing, to which the murderer replied "I am going to kill this one", referring to the victim. He carried out the act at that very moment after taking the bladed weapon from his waist with which he committed the crime in the middle of the discussion over personal matters.


In the file, the prosecuting body indicated that the defendant acted with malice when taking the life of his brother, an exemplary young man in the community.
