Washington, D.C. – Through a post on the social media of the United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic, it was reported that the United States Senate confirmed Leah Campos as the new U.S. ambassador to the country.
The nomination of Campos, previously presented by the President of the United States, was approved with broad bipartisan support, solidifying his arrival to the highest diplomatic post in Santo Domingo. His appointment marks the beginning of a new stage in bilateral relations, characterized by cooperation in security, trade, investment, human rights, and democratic strengthening.
