Iran confirms attacks on US bases in the Middle East

Doha, Qatar.– The tension in the Middle East reached a new level this Monday after Iran confirmed the attacks against all U.S. military bases in the region, in direct response to the recent U.S. bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities. The most recent explosions were reported on the outskirts of Doha, where the Al Udeid air base is located, the largest that Washington operates outside its territory.

Witnesses described a series of explosions and sightings of missiles streaking across the skies of Qatar. Iran's Revolutionary Guard asserted that "all American sites of interest" can be considered military targets, marking a more aggressive stance towards the US presence in the region. The attack occurs just two days after the United States launched high-precision penetrating bombs against three Iranian nuclear sites, marking its formal entry into the conflict that has pitted Israel and Iran against each other for eleven days. That same Monday, Israel intensified its offensive inside Iran, attacking key military installations and symbols of power, including the gate of Evin prison in Tehran, known for housing political prisoners. Although Israeli authorities claim they are not seeking to overthrow the regime, they warned that they will continue their operations in the coming days, targeting strategic and symbolic targets.

Tension escalated even further after statements by former President Donald Trump on his Truth Social network, where he openly suggested a possible "regime change" in Iran if its current government fails to "make Iran great again." In parallel, Tehran launched the third phase of its retaliatory campaign under the name “Operation True Promise 3,” targeting the Israeli cities of Haifa and Tel Aviv, while threatening to expand its attacks to any U.S. force or infrastructure in the region. With multiple fronts open —Israel, Gaza, Iran and now potentially Qatar— the conflict enters a high-risk phase with unpredictable consequences for global stability.
