SANTO DOMINGO.– The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, referred this Monday to the identity of the police officers involved in the death of five people in a barbershop in Santiago, during her participation in La Semanal con la Prensa.

Raful indicated that it is necessary to wait for the work of the Public Ministry to declare the criminal responsibility of each of the agents who may have been involved in the event. “It must be verified if all the participants really have some type of criminal responsibility or if some more than others,” he affirmed.

The minister explained that information is being gathered, including videos, cameras, identification, and traces, with the aim that the prosecuting body has all the necessary elements and, at the same time, the National Police can take the corresponding disciplinary measures. Raful highlighted that this process seeks to ensure that those responsible are clearly identified and to what extent, allowing judicial authorities to define the relevant sanctions. "We are vigilant in ensuring that justice is served and that the necessary measures are taken at both the criminal and disciplinary levels," the official concluded during the program.
