About twenty activists from the group Marea Palestina staged a sit-in protest in front of the 'Guernica' this Sunday, which forced the evacuation of the room where Picasso's painting is exhibited in the Reina Sofía Museum of Madrid. With signs that formed the phrase “Stop genocide”, the activists sat on the floor in front of the painting by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), which forced the museum to evacuate visitors from the room. After about twenty minutes of protest, the visitors were able to return to the room, although the protesters were still sitting in front of the painting.

With this protest action, Marea Palestina wanted to express its "demand for the cessation of the genocide against the Palestinian people," the organization said in a statement. For the group, the imminent signing of a ceasefire sponsored by the United States "even though it is good news for the Palestinian people, is a mirage of peace shamefully accepted by our government." Thus, it was pointed out that "the genocide has not stopped, as the effects of the famine continue and the entry of humanitarian aid is still not effective." Therefore, it considers it necessary to maintain social mobilization, the demand for a permanent arms embargo, the opening of humanitarian aid and evacuation corridors, and the regrouping of Gazans who have requested it. After about 40 minutes, the group concluded the protest and vacated the room after shouting "Long live free Palestine."
