The bullpen maintained the dominance with scoreless innings by Génesis Cabrera, Alexander Colomé and Hansel Marcelino, the latter closing the game without complications. With the triumph, the Leones (16-22) tied the City Champ series 5-5 with the Licey (16-21), taking the title by run difference of +17.

Four home runs and relentless attack

The offensive festival started early. In the first inning, debutant Yainer Díaz hit a two-run home run to left field against Shaun Anderson, with an exit velocity of 105.7 mph and a distance of 433 feet. In that same inning, the Escogido added two more, including a run-scoring double by Junior Lake. The Lions continued the onslaught with two runs in the second, two in the third and another two in the seventh, one of them by a solo home run by Franchy Cordero against Oliver Ortega. In the eighth, Alexander Canario added his first home run of the night, a home run to left field against Ulises Joaquín (98.9 mph, 360 feet). But the best was yet to come: in the ninth, Canario himself punished the same reliever again with a grand slam at 428 feet, with a speed of 103.7 mph, sealing the red beating.

Licey's Minimum Response

The Tigers' only run came in the eighth inning thanks to a solo home run by Esteury Ruiz against Yorlin Calderón. The blue opener, Shaun Anderson (1-2), suffered the loss after allowing six runs in just 1.1 innings.
