Vultures Dominate Pueblo Nuevo with Force

In the first match of the day, the Lavapiés Vultures showed why they are one of the favorites for the title by comfortably defeating Pueblo Nuevo with a score of 102 to 83, in a match where their dominance was evident from the first quarter. The great figure of the afternoon was once again Jeison Colomé, who signed an impressive performance with 35 points and 13 rebounds, combining power, skill, and a masterful reading of the game. Colomé was a constant threat to the rival defense and proved unstoppable both in transition and from the perimeter. The contribution of the novel Rey Abad, who recorded a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds, was key in controlling the interior game, while guard Jeremy Rivera added 21 points with great effectiveness from long distance.

For the Pueblo Nuevo team, star player Gerardo Suero once again demonstrated his quality with 34 points, keeping his team in the fight during the first half. However, the lack of consistent defensive support took its toll. Rubén Mejía also contributed 18 points, although they were not enough against the overwhelming offense of the Vultures.

Wolves Prevail in Close Duel Against Ciro Pérez

In the closing game of the double-header, the Lobos de Canastica came out victorious in a vibrant match against the historic Club Ciro Pérez, achieving victory with a score of 94 to 88 and thus taking the lead in their semifinal series. The Wolves' offensive trident was decisive, led by an inspired Edgar Tejeda, who scored 31 points, carrying the offense at decisive moments. Alongside him, Juan Rosario also shone with 29 points, demonstrating his ability to score from all angles. No less important was the work of center Jonathan Araujo, who was one assist away from a triple-double, recording 14 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists, being a key factor on both sides of the court. By Ciro Pérez, veteran reinforcement Juan Guerrero responded with a solid double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds, showing his class and leadership. Alejandro De los Santos and José “Tongo” Corporán added 18 and 16 points, respectively, but could not avoid the defeat against a Canastica team that showed greater depth and better execution in the final minutes.

Impeccable Organization and Institutional Support

The TBS San Cristóbal 2025 semifinal is taking place under excellent organization by the San Cristóbal Basketball Association (ABASANCRIS), chaired by leader Eddy Montas, who has been a key figure in the growth and professionalization of the tournament. With a combination of organization, support, young and veteran talent, and a dedicated fanbase, the TBS San Cristóbal 2025 reaffirms its status as one of the most exciting and traditional tournaments in the country. The event has the firm backing of the Ministry of Sports, headed by engineer Kelvin Cruz, an ally of national basketball and sports in general. This institutional support has been vital to maintain a high-level technical tournament, competitive and with quality standards in logistics and operability.

Family atmosphere and popular access

The Sunday's day reaffirmed the enthusiasm and passion of the people of San Cristobal for their basketball. Hundreds of fans came with their families to enjoy this sporting event, which continues to be one of the main recreational and competitive events in the province. The entrance fee remains at 100 pesos per person, an affordable rate that allows everyone to enjoy the best local and national talent on the court.

Next matchday

The semifinals continue this Tuesday starting at 7:00 PM with the second game of both series, on a day that could define the path to the grand final of the tournament. If Buitres and Lobos win again, they would secure their direct pass to the championship match. In contrast, Pueblo Nuevo and Ciro Pérez are obliged to win to force a third and decisive game.
