Army detains 21 undocumented Haitian nationals during operation in Mao

Valverde, R.D. – The Dominican Republic Army (ERD), detained twenty-one (21) Haitian nationals in an irregular migratory condition in the Piloto sector of Mao municipality, Valverde province.

The detainees, including eight (08) men, seven (07) women, and six (06) minors, were walking in a rural area of the aforementioned municipality when they were intercepted by soldiers of the ERD.

Undocumented foreigners were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade for the corresponding legal procedures and their subsequent handover to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM). The ERD maintains permanent vigilance and firm actions throughout its area of responsibility, in support of national security and compliance with current laws.
