DNCD arrests two "renowned" drug traffickers in Sabana Perdida

Santo Domingo.- Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry arrested two "recognized" drug traffickers, who are accused of being members of the criminal structure of Osvaldo Mojica Prandi (Bebé), accused of homicide, illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking. The DNCD said in a note this Wednesday that both organizations reinforced the search, surveillance, and interdiction operations in the Perdida sector, Santo Domingo Norte municipality, where they arrested Greidy Valentín Olaverria Santana and Jesús Alexis Solano Rivas.

The anti-narcotics agency said that 'Bebé' is one of the most wanted criminals in Greater Santo Domingo. He is accused of murdering a young man in the El Cristal sector, in Sabana Perdida, and is considered a dangerous person who is heavily armed, the information added. During the intervention, the operational teams seized 1,069 grams of alleged cocaine, 386 grams of marijuana, 51 doses of crack, for a total of 1,522 grams; a scale, a cell phone, cash and other evidence linked to the investigation were also seized. The detainees will be brought to justice in the coming hours for violation of law 50-88, on drugs and controlled substances, while the Public Ministry and the DNCD continue to strengthen joint actions to attack, pursue and eradicate drug trafficking.
