Jerusalem.- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there are "signs" that indicate that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei "is no longer alive" after the Israeli attack on his residence this Saturday.

"The plan to destroy Israel no longer exists. And signs are increasing that the tyrant has also ceased to exist," he said about the Iranian supreme leader during a statement broadcast on Saturday night.

Netanyahu indicated that during the attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran, in a "surprise attack", the Khamenei complex "in the heart of Tehran" was destroyed.

"This morning we thwarted the plans of senior officials of the ayatollahs' regime, commanders of the Revolutionary Guard and senior officials of the nuclear program, and we will continue: in the coming days we will attack thousands of targets of the terrorist regime," he added.

In addition, the Israeli Prime Minister made a direct appeal to the Iranian population to "seize this opportunity" and mobilize against the regime.

"Go out into the streets to complete the task: overthrow the regime of horrors that makes your life impossible," Netanyahu expressed. "Your suffering and sacrifice will not be in vain. The help you longed for has arrived," he affirmed.

In the final part of his speech, the leader addressed the Israeli population, warning them that in the coming days they will be required to maintain the same "iron discipline" during this first day of armed conflict.

The Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, echoed the Prime Minister's words in a statement broadcast on public television, in which he celebrated the Israeli military campaign against Iran. "The enemy who tries to raise his hand against us will pay a very high price," Saar affirmed.

For their part, Iranian media claimed on Saturday that Khamenei is alive and directing the country's defense operations in the face of the military operation launched this morning by the United States and Israel against Iran.
