Undocumented individuals moved across different communities in border provinces
Valverde.- Through patrols carried out by members of the Dominican Republic Army, 46 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition were detained in different locations in the provinces of Santiago, Valverde and Santiago Rodríguez.
Members of the Army intercepted a group of 23 undocumented Haitian nationals in the Piloto sector of the municipality of Mao, Valverde province. Other 08 undocumented Haitian migrants, all male, who were traveling in a rural area of Santiago Rodríguez, were arrested by members of the institution stationed for service at the La Leonor detachment.You may be interested in: Group of undocumented immigrants intercepted near an irrigation canal in Azua
During another operation, 15 other undocumented immigrants who were walking in areas near the municipality of San José de las Matas and the town of El Rubio, in the province of Santiago, were arrested.The 46 foreigners in irregular migratory condition were detained during the operations carried out by the Army in the last hours and subsequently transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the ERD, from where they will be handed over for the repatriation process to the General Directorate of Migration.
