Montecristi. The Dominican Republic Army (ERD) intercepted 37 Haitian migrants with irregular migratory status during border control operations in communities in the province of Montecristi, under the jurisdiction of the 4th Infantry Brigade.
In the community of Mangá, Guayubín municipality, a patrol of the ERD located 26 Haitian citizens: 16 men, 9 women and one minor. Meanwhile, in Hatillo Palma, another patrol assigned to the local detachment identified 11 more people, including 8 men and 3 women, as they were trying to evade military surveillance.
The detainees were transferred to a temporary detention center and remain in custody to be processed in accordance with the General Migration Law.

Authorities continue operations at strategic points on the border to stop the irregular flow of people into Dominican territory.
