Santo Domingo. - The ambassador of China in the country, Chen Luning, assured this Friday that the procedures for the reopening of the Chinese stores that were closed by the authorities due to irregularities detected in their buildings are advancing.
Luning explained, in a document, that the affected businesses represent isolated cases and do not reflect the general behavior of the Chinese community in the country. In that sense, he highlighted that the majority of Chinese entrepreneurs operate complying with Dominican laws and regulations.

The diplomat highlighted the stability of economic relations between both countries, pointing out that China maintains its position as the second trading partner of the Dominican Republic, with a bilateral exchange that exceeded 5 billion dollars in the last period. He assured that one of the priority objectives is to increase Dominican exports to the Chinese market to move towards a more equitable trade balance. "We want to further strengthen economic cooperation and promote the entry of more Dominican products into China," he said.
