RIO DE JANEIRO. – Flamengo added another golden chapter to its successful season by being crowned champion of the Brazilian Championship this Wednesday, after defeating Ceará 1-0 at the Maracanã stadium. The title comes just four days after the Carioca club lifted its fourth Copa Libertadores, consolidating itself as the first Brazilian team to achieve it.

The decisive goal was scored by Samuel Lino, who took advantage of a precise assist from the Colombian Jorge Carrascal, on a night of anticipated celebration in front of 73,244 fans, the largest attendance of the year in the emblematic venue. With this triumph, Flamengo reached 78 points, maintaining an unreachable advantage over Palmeiras (73), who also won their match against Atlético Mineiro (0-3).
