A Colombian doctor died after suffering an accident during an aquatic activity on the island of Barú, in Cartagena.
The victim was identified as Julie Nataly Bohórquez Romero, a gynecologist who worked at the Hospital Departamental María Inmaculada, in Caquetá. She was in the city participating in a medical congress and took the opportunity to engage in recreational activities with colleagues.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred while the woman was in the water. A vessel transiting the area struck her with the propeller, causing serious injuries, especially to her arm and chest.
After the impact, she received initial attention at the scene and was then transferred to Bocagrande Hospital, where she died due to the severity of her injuries.
