- 1849. Haitian General Faustino Souluque, at the head of 18,000 men, heads for the border through Mirebelais, while another army from the north under the command of General Bidó, enters Dominican territory through Hincha.
- 1878. Lawyer Cesareo Contreras is sworn in as provisional president of the Republic, replacing Ignacio Ma. González.
- 1863. General José Hungría, leading Spanish troops, defeats the Dominican forces under the command of General Antonio Batista in Sabaneta.
- 2002. The free newspaper El Día circulates for the first time in the country, under the direction of journalist and lawyer Rafael Molina Morillo.
- 2005. The judge of the Third Court of Instruction of the province of Santo Domingo, William Encarnación, orders the imprisonment of friar Meregildo Díaz y Díaz, who was under investigation in connection with the murder of the spouses Joel Alexander Díaz Sarmiento and Yaniris Sánchez Ruiz.
- 2009. A court sentences banker Pedro Castillo to 10 years in prison for alleged irregularities during his time as president of the Board of Directors of Banco del Progreso.
- 2012. Broadcaster, TV producer and former mayor of the National District, Rafael Corporán de los Santos, dies of a heart attack at the age of 75, who was honored two days before.
- 2015. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs orders the suspension of services offered by the four consulates in Haiti, due to the aggressions suffered by the diplomatic legations by Haitian groups, in protest against alleged mistreatment of their compatriots in Dominican territory.

- 2019. The Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee of the United States, Jerrod Nadler, asks 60 people related to President Donald Trump for documents about his alleged obstruction of Justice, corruption and abuse of power.
- - The Catholic Church admits that 101 priests have been brought to trial for sexual offenses since 2010 in Mexico, without reporting their status or the outcome of the accusations before the civil authorities.
- 2021. The Venezuelan Government announces the issuance of a new monetary cone with the incorporation of three new banknotes of 200,000, 500,000 and one million bolivars, the latter having a value of 50 cents of a dollar.
