Shooting at rapper Mello Buckzz's party leaves 4 dead and 18 injured in Chicago

Chicago.– A night that promised to be a celebration ended in tragedy when a shooting from a moving vehicle left a balance of four people dead and 18 injured in front of the Artis Restaurant and Lounge, on the 300 block of West Chicago Avenue, in the Near North Side neighborhood. The violent incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, shortly after a private party to celebrate the launch of the new album by rapper Mello Buckzz, who had announced the event as a gathering at a "private location" starting at 7:00 p.m. You can also read: Among the fatalities are two men, aged 24 and 25, and two women, whose ages range from 21 to 32. Four other people remain hospitalized in critical or serious condition, according to the authorities.


No arrests have been made so far. The Chicago Police reported that the attack was carried out from a moving vehicle and that several armed suspects remain at large. The investigation remains active and security cameras in the area are being reviewed to obtain clues to help identify those responsible.


This new episode of violence occurs despite a recent decrease in armed crime rates in the city. According to official statistics, homicides in Chicago have fallen by 32% as of June 29, and shootings have decreased by 39% compared to the same period last year.
