Extreme heat and possible storms will mark the weather this July 4th in Madrid

MADRID. – This Friday, July 4, 2025, the weather in Madrid is marked by high temperatures, mostly sunny conditions and the possibility of storms during the early hours of the morning, according to the official forecast. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a yellow warning for extreme temperatures and risk of storms in the Metropolitan and Henares region.

From the early hours of the morning, the sky will be clear, with temperatures around 20 °C, ideal for those who have to leave early or return home late. However, as the morning progresses, a progressive rise in heat is expected: at 9:00 a.m. about 24 °C will be recorded, and at noon 30 °C will already be reached under a sunny sky with light haze.

The situation will become more demanding in the afternoon. Between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., the thermometer will climb to 37 °C, with a thermal sensation even higher, which has led the authorities to recommend avoiding exposure to the sun during peak hours, as well as staying well hydrated and wearing light-colored clothing. As evening falls and during the night, although the sky will be partially cloudy, the heat will persist. Around 8:00 p.m., temperatures will remain above 34 °C, and at 11:00 p.m. they will be around 30 °C, suggesting a hot night for those participating in outdoor activities for the United States Independence Day holiday, which is also celebrated in the Spanish capital. In parallel, AEMET has warned about possible storms accompanied by hail and wind gusts during the early hours of the morning, especially in exposed areas. It is recommended to stay informed and take precautions against sudden changes in the weather.
