ATLANTA – Truist Park witnessed a memorable night that combined excitement, history, tributes, and an unprecedented outcome. In the 95th Major League All-Star Game, the National League prevailed with an official score of 7-6 after defeating the American League in an unprecedented home run derby to break the tie.

After a 6-6 tie in nine innings, the spectacle went up a level with the debut of the “swing-off”, a format of three batters per league with three swings each. The hero was Kyle Schwarber, of the Phillies, who hit three home runs in three swings, ensuring the victory without Pete Alonso needing to bat. For his performance, Schwarber was named Ted Williams All-Star Game Most Valuable Player, presented by Chevrolet. “It was incredible. The guys were yelling and supporting on every swing. It was a very special moment,” Schwarber said after receiving the award.

A legendary tribute and a historic closing

The day began with an emotional tribute to Hank Aaron, with a virtual projection of his iconic home run 715, pyrotechnics, and the original narration of Vin Scully. Truist Park symbolically transformed into Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium to pay homage to one of the greatest icons in baseball. The game itself had everything: home runs, comebacks, and drama. The National League opened a 6-0 lead with home runs from Pete Alonso and Corbin Carroll, but the American League tied it in the ninth inning with a surprising offensive reaction.

Regarding the Dominicans, Oneil Cruz and Junior Caminero were also protagonists in Monday's Home Run Derby, although they fell in the final against Cal Raleigh, Mariners catcher, who made history by being the first catcher to win the event.
