High humidity will favor showers in some provinces this Saturday

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), reports that showers will occur this Saturday. According to the forecast, in the morning hours, isolated showers will occur in provinces near the south coast of the country, such as: La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, among others, associated with the cloudiness that the wind carries towards us. As the afternoon progresses, the high moisture content in our air mass, brought by the south/southeast wind induced by Tropical Storm Jerry, will combine with the effects associated with the diurnal cycle, generating cloud cover increases with showers, thunderstorms, and isolated wind gusts until the early evening hours, especially towards provinces such as: La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Monte Plata, Samaná, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Santiago, Espaillat, San Juan, Elías Piña, Dajabon, Monte Cristi, Puerto Plata, Valverde and Santiago Rodríguez, among other provinces. For Sunday, the flow of warm and humid wind from the southeast will continue to generate cloudiness in the early morning and early hours of the day, which will leave isolated showers in towns near the South coast of the country, while in the afternoon, these conditions will combine with the effects associated with the diurnal cycle, with heavy downpours expected in isolated points, thunderstorms and wind gusts towards provinces of the northwest, southeast, southwest, the Cibao Valley and the Central Mountain Range, until the early hours of the night.

Temperatures

The temperatures will be hot and in that sense the weather entity recommended drinking water, wearing light-colored clothing, avoiding the sun for prolonged periods without protection, seeking cool and ventilated places to mitigate the effects of the heat.

Temperatures: the minimum will be between 21 °C and 23 °C and the maximum between 33 °C and 35 °C.

The Indomet monitors tropical storm Jerry, located about 700 km north of the northern Leeward Islands, Lesser Antilles, with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h.
