Tokischa and Ivy Queen led the panel “Breaking Stereotypes” at Billboard Latin Music Week 2025

Miami.- Dominican urban singer Tokischa starred alongside iconic reggaeton singer Ivy Queen in the panel “Breaking Stereotypes” during the second day of Billboard Latin Music Week 2025.

Both artists, recognized for their influence on different generations of the Latin urban genre, led a conversation focused on the stereotypes they have faced throughout their careers. More than a formal Billboard talk, their union was an open dialogue between women about the personal and professional challenges that have marked their trajectories.

Tokischa and Ivy Queen agreed that it was the first time they had met in person. However, they highlighted to the attendees that they had an immediate connection, which they attributed to sharing the same zodiac sign, Pisces, and having faced similar criticism for their character and artistic style.

During the conversation, Tokischa explained that her sensual image often leads to misunderstandings about her personal life. She clarified that offstage she is a woman of faith, values, and good manners, a humble woman who asks for forgiveness, aspects that, according to her, are not always reflected in the public perception people have of her.

Ivy Queen, for her part, commented that one of the stigmas she has faced is the belief that she is a distant, "conceited" or even worse, "bad-tempered" person, something that, according to what she expressed in a joking tone, has even affected her "singleness".

Tokischa's participation, an important figure in the new generation of female artists in the urban genre, alongside a pioneering figure like Ivy Queen, was seen as a reflection of the international reach and impact of her career, as well as highlighting the space that both have conquered in a genre historically dominated by men.
