Lions select Foster and Miranda; Bulls take Crismatt and Despaigne in Imported Draft

SANTO DOMINGO. – The Leones del Escogido chose pitchers Matt Foster and Luis Fernando Miranda, while the Toros del Este selected Nabil Crismatt and Odrisamer Despaigne during the Imported Draft held this Tuesday, in preparation for the Final Series of the 2025-2026 championship, dedicated to Juan Marichal and in option for the Banreservas Cup.

All the selected players belonged to the Águilas Cibaeñas during the recently concluded Round Robin, now reinforcing the teams qualified for the tournament final. Foster, a right-handed reliever, had an outstanding performance in the semifinal series, recording an ERA of 3.00, a WHIP of 1.00, and an opponents' batting average of .182. In three innings pitched, he allowed two hits, one earned run, walked one batter, struck out one batter, and earned two saves. For his part, Luis Fernando Miranda, right-handed pitcher, showed great dominance from the mound by closing the Round Robin with an effectiveness of 1.50 and an excellent WHIP of 0.33. In six innings of work, he allowed only two hits, one earned run, did not concede walks and struck out seven rivals, a performance that strengthens the Lions' starting rotation. The Toros del Este selected Nabil Crismatt, who was registered by the Águilas but did not see action in the semifinal, and Odrisamer Despaigne, who did pitch in the Round Robin, leaving an ERA of 3.18 and a WHIP of 0.88. Despaigne worked 5.2 innings, allowed four hits, two earned runs, conceded one walk and struck out three batters. The Imported Draft was moderated by LIDOM's technical director, Jorge Torres, and included the participation of Carlos Peña, general manager of the Leones del Escogido, and Jesús Mejía, general manager of the Toros del Este. In the list of available players, ten players were listed, eight from the Águilas Cibaeñas and two from the Gigantes del Cibao.
