Senator Rogelio Genao attributes the positioning of tourism in the DR to the government's good management

Spain. – The senator for the province of La Vega and member of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Rogelio Genao, affirmed that the positioning achieved by Dominican tourism in the Caribbean is due to the good management of the Government headed by President Luis Abinader, as well as the management carried out by David Collado at the head of the Ministry of Tourism. Genao pointed out that the Dominican Republic was one of the first countries to reactivate its tourist destinations, despite the fact that the PRM assumed the Government in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, which, he assured, allowed the country to receive more than 10 million tourists a year.

"It is necessary to highlight the work that David Collado has done, but our great plus, what makes us special, is the kind and affable treatment that Dominicans offer to tourists. That is why we invite everyone to visit the Dominican Republic," said the legislator. The congressman also referred to his home province, La Vega, which was declared an ecotourism province through Law 47-23, thanks to its cultural attractions and natural reserves. He also announced that preparations are already underway for the 2026 Vegano Carnival, which will begin in February. Rogelio Genao offered these statements during his visit, this Tuesday, to the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2026, which is held in Madrid, Spain, from January 21 to 25.
