Santiago.- The Public Ministry changed this Friday the request for preventive detention to house arrest for five of the defendants in the case known as "Grandparents' Scam", while requesting 18 months of preventive detention for two other defendants
The prosecution requested the judge of the Permanent Attention Court of the judicial district of this city, Yiberty Polanco, to change the preventive detention for house arrest for Adderly Antonio Polanco Báez, José Ramón López Tavares, Juan Luis Naranjo Gómez, Luis Eduardo Méndez Ureña
In the case of Gipsy Pamela Castaños García, in addition to house arrest, the prosecuting body requested an economic guarantee of 500,000 pesos through an insurance company and periodic reporting to the prosecutor's office.
Also, the prosecution requested that the case be declared complex, alleging that it is an organized criminal structure with multiple defendants and transnational impact.
