Santo Domingo.– A group of leaders from the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) formalized this Wednesday their support for the presidential project of the former Minister of Public Works, Gonzalo Castillo, during a meeting that brought together members of the Political Committee, Central Committee, legislators, former mayors and national leaders.
The conveners stated that Castillo constitutes, in their opinion, the figure with the greatest capacity to unite the party and lead a possible return to power in the next elections.
The main speaker, Congressman Gustavo Sánchez, highlighted that Castillo's approach is oriented towards management based on efficiency and results, and called for promoting that vision throughout the country.

Former congresswoman Rosa Hilda Genao, from Santiago, valued the proposal as an opportunity to rethink the national course, pointing out that social sectors are demanding new answers in the face of the current situation. The organizers indicated that support for Castillo has been consolidating in different directions within the PLD, where they believe that the former minister left a mark in terms of modernization and innovation during his time in public administration.“The PLD unites around Gonzalo not by imposition, but because that is what the structures in provinces and municipalities express. His experience and trajectory place him in a favorable position to lead the party back to the Government,” he pointed out.
